Getting used to living on the run and in eternal turmoil, we forget that technology can be a source of harm that is not noticeable at first glance. Microwaves conquered the whole world, and manufacturers and sellers repeat in every way how comfortable and safe they are, but is this true?

Is there life without a microwave?

It should be remembered: everyone who is interested in sales, will work out the client's objections and list only the advantages of their goods. For a couple of decades, we are so accustomed to microwave ovens that some people do not understand how you can live without them. Failure of a beloved device plunges into stress, some people are so used to fast food that they don’t even carry in repairs, but throw out broken equipment and immediately buy a new one.

At first glance, everything is simple:Electromagnetic radiation produces waves that cause water molecules to move faster. Due to this effect, the products are heated to the desired temperature. But why then food from the microwave is so strikingly different from that which was prepared in the traditional way? Because other heating mechanisms are involved, coming from inside the product, destroying the natural structure.

Microwave ovens have found application in industry. They dry and defrost large batches of food, melt plastic, burn ceramics, heat up glue, and so on.

A lot of controversy arises around microwaves - whether they are harmful to human health. You can talk for a long time, conflicting information will be enough for a full two-day dispute. As a result, each participant will still have his own opinion. I will cite a few facts that do not speak in favor of this device:

  1. There is a mention that the microwave retains all the benefits of vitamin C, but it destroys the protein and vitamin B12, useful lactic acid bacteria. Turns out that it is strictly forbidden to heat meat, chicken, mushrooms, kefir, cottage cheese in such a way.
  2. Honey after the microwave will lose all the beneficial properties! It is forbidden to heat it above 40 degrees.
  3. Berries and fruits lose glucoside and galactoside.
  4. Rays destroy flavonoids. These are natural antioxidants that help our body eliminate toxins. For example, there are a lot of them in broccoli. To preserve useful properties, it is better to steam it.
  5. Garlic is known for its ability to neutralize carcinogens, but after microwave processing, it completely loses this property.
  6. Speaking about the safety of radiation, it is worth noting that pregnant women are forbidden to stand in front of a working unit. There are no such restrictions for the oven and the kettle, as they definitely do not cause any harm!

The question arises, is it worth the perceived comfort of such losses? Microwave ovens are undesirable to use every day for the preparation of useless food. Many people do very well without them!

In proof of the fact that there is life without this unit, I will give a few proven examples.Cutlets will always be tastier when they are sweated in a pan or oven. Everything related to meat and chicken, refers just to the point about the destruction of proteins! Protein products after the microwave will become useless food, not to mention the inexpressive taste. So, what devices help in the kitchen.

Oven. Modern models with grill and convection prepare delicious dishes with an appetizing crust. Cooking molds with non-stick coating, bags and baking sleeves will do without oil.

Plate. There is no accurate clinical data on how the microwave oven affects the structure of water, so it is better to heat food in small pots or metal bowls. For example, I noticed a long time ago that the heating in the microwave is uneven, and the soup from the stove is always uniformly warm.

Separately, I want to add about the containers: even if it is an expensive food grade plastic, with the naked eye over time it is noticeable how the wall becomes cloudy from constant use in the microwave.

Roster ormini oven. If we are talking about a small-sized kitchen, then instead of a full-fledged stove put a small but powerful "fellow." Roasters also know how to bake, but at the expense of small volume it turns out faster. Great for hot sandwiches, warming up meat and fish and other good things. The work is based on the heating of heating elements from above and below. Some models have up to four heating elements and built-in convection.

Multivarka. Those who do not want to spend a lot of time in the kitchen, should look at the modern models. Dinner from the multicooker will bring more benefits by saving vitamins.

Double boiler. Steaming takes a leading position among adherents of a healthy diet, it retains a maximum of nutrients and food texture and allows you to cook without oil. Steam vegetables and meatballs are recommended to anyone who has problems with overweight and the health of the gastrointestinal tract.

Juice, kefir and milk It is better to pour into warm cups and leave some time on the table so that the liquid itself will take room temperature.

In the USSR, they also made microwaves, but production did not become widespread. The first mentions refer to 1978, and several factories, including the legendary ZIL, were involved in the release.

Any self-respecting chef who values ​​his reputation will never give guests a microwave dish. It loses taste and vitamins. We can do without a microwave oven, but without healthy and healthy food.
