The joystick does not work on the computer

Along with the development of the gaming industry, the production of gaming peripherals is also being improved. For convenient and comfortable gameplay, depending on the situation, gamers use the keyboard, steering wheels and joysticks. Despite the fact that all devices are easy to install and do not require special settings, they often fail or start to work incorrectly. There may be several reasons for this and they all depend on the type of gaming accessories used.

In order for the joystick to work correctly, the system unit must define it as a new connected gaming device. But sometimes he can not do this. The causes of this problem may be:

  1. The lack of necessary gamepad drivers. If the necessary software is not available, the operating system of the computer will not be able to find, recognize and synchronize with the controller. This reason is one of the most common and is easily eliminated.
  2. No required settings. After connecting the game controller to a computer or laptop, you need to perform a number of simple settings and calibrate. If calibration has not been performed, the gamepad will not work.
  3. USB socket malfunction.
  4. Conflict handler and devices already connected to the system unit.
  5. Disabled Bluetooth or Wi-Fi - if the connection is made by wireless technology.
  6. The operating system installed on the PC or laptop does not support the game controller. Usually this happens when a gamepad of old models is connected to the system unit on which the latest version of Windows is installed.
  7. Malfunction of the manipulator. In case of mechanical damage, the manipulator may stop functioning.
  8. USB cable failure.

ATTENTION! When connecting the game controller to the system unit, you should make sure that Bluetooth is turned on!

If the reason why the manipulator does not work, is not associated with mechanical damage to the device itself or the USB cable, then you can fix it yourself. For this you need:

  1. In the absence of the necessary drivers, they should be installed. They can be downloaded from the disk that comes with the game pad or from the official site of the gamepad manufacturer. As a rule, the entire installation of the necessary software is automatic.
  2. Perform calibration settings. To do this, find the item "Gaming devices" or "Devices and printers." In it you need to find a connected joystick and click on the corresponding icon with the right mouse button. In the window that opens, you need to find the "Settings for gaming devices." In the window that appears, click on "Properties" and go to the "Parameters" tab, then click "Calibrate". After the configuration is completed, you need to close the window, confirming all the changes made.
  3. Check whether Wi-Fi or Bluetooth is turned on or not on both devices. If necessary, you need to turn on the wireless network.
  4. Check the USB socket by connecting the controller to another port. If the joystick starts working, then the port is out of order.

ATTENTION! If the reason is related to the failure of the USB cable or mechanical damage to the joystick, then you need to contact the service workshop!

All problems associated with the software, the user can solve their own. As a rule, it does not cause any special difficulties. If nothing helps, then you need to either reinstall the operating system or visit the workshop.
