How to trick an induction cooker

Progress does not stand still, and many innovations appear in the field of household appliances. The induction cooker cannot be called an innovation in the full sense of the word - the invention dates from the 70s of the last century. These stoves were widely used only in recent years due to the mass of advantages - high efficiency, low power consumption compared to a classic electric stove, fire safety and the convenience of this type of device. However, there are some nuances in their use. Sometimes it is necessary to deceive the induction cooker, about why to do it and how, we will discuss later in the article.

Why is it necessary

The device is demanding regarding what utensils are used in the cooking process. The following conditions must be met:

  1. The first requirement is the chemical composition of the material from which it is made, must be a ferromagnet and conduct induction currents. Simply put, metal utensils are required, and one to which the magnet sticks - this is the criterion whether it fits or not. This can be enameled steel, and food stainless steel, and cast iron, the main thing is that the material conducts magnetic currents. Special sets of induction cookware are marked accordingly in the form of an icon depicting a spring, or the inscription induction. To use aluminum, ceramic or glassware, you have to bypass the recognition system through induction discs.
  2. The second condition is the flat bottom of the dishes used, covering more than 70% of the working surface of the plate.
  3. And yet - the thickness of the dishes used must be at least two millimeters, otherwise it can be deformed during operation, and the plate will also cease to “see” it. In case of non-compliance with these conditions, the operation of the electronics on the stove does not occur, and the cooking process does not start.

If the dishes do not meet these requirements, the oven may not recognize it. In such cases, some tricks were invented to trick the stove.

What will help cheat induction cooker

For the heating process to go, you need to mislead the device, ensuring that the above conditions are met. This maneuver is done using special discs.

What are induction discs

In fact, behind this tricky name is hiding a round disk made of a ferromagnet, for example, stainless steel, of suitable diameter to cover the working surface of the plate, perfectly flat and thick enough not to deform when heated. It can be purchased in a specialized store, via the Internet, or made at home from improvised materials.

Attention!

This solution has a small minus - the performance of the plate decreases somewhat due to the transfer of part of the heat to the environment by the disk. As a result, the cooking process is slower than when using the dishes directly, without a disc.

Features of using induction discs

The meaning of the process is that at first the disk mounted on the work surface is heated, and then heat is transferred from it to the dishes standing on it.
