Tying a heating boiler with polypropylene schemes

Proper tying of the heating boiler is the key to the long-term and effective functioning of the heating system. Most often, polypropylene pipes are used for these purposes, since they are inexpensive and easy to install - they are connected with a soldering iron, and there will be no guarantee of leaks. Despite the apparent simplicity, there are certain requirements and compliance with the technology of work. They may come as a surprise to an inexperienced person, because neglect of them can lead to disastrous consequences.

Why is the heating boiler piping needed and what is it like

A harness is a complex of equipment whose task is the uninterrupted operation of the heater and further transportation to heat-transfer radiators. The operation of the boiler depends on it, maintaining a comfortable temperature in the rooms and the reliability of the system as a whole, which is why the circuit requires accurate preliminary calculation. This is also due to the fact that there is no universal scheme that would be equally effective for all systems. For maximum efficiency of the heating network, design is carried out individually, but at the same time, any scheme should include:

  • single-circuit or double-circuit boiler;
  • expansion tank;
  • polypropylene pipes, fittings;
  • batteries of the preferred material;
  • bypasses for switching off certain devices, if necessary.

Polypropylene pipes for good reason are so widespread. PIn addition to the fact that the construction with their use is monolithic, it is resistant to heating, high installation speed and its simplicity, insignificant thermal conductivity, versatility and the absence of deposits on the inner walls. Having given preference to this material, you can be sure of the correct operation of the system for decades.

Ways of tying heating boilers

Depending on the principle of fluid circulation along the circuit, systems are forced and natural movement. The latter is characteristic of the simplest heating schemes, in which the movement of hot and cold water occurs due to gravity. This makes it appropriate for small buildings, but in large and multi-story buildings its use is unacceptable. For the reason that the effectiveness of such a strapping is not influenced, it is often cut into a pump, which is used if necessary. The advantages of this type of heating include:

  • ease of installation;
  • uninterrupted operation due to independence from the power grid;
  • low cost of installation, as well as maintenance;
  • lack of devices that may fail.

Among the shortcomings, one can single out the need for careful selection of the diameter of the pipes, which affects the functionality of the circuit, as well as the aesthetics of the system, which is far from ideal.

The forced option is distinguished by the ability to control and great comfort, since temperature control is available individually for each room, its automatic maintenance.

ATTENTION! The functioning of the circuit depends on the mains and, in the absence of electricity, its operation is simply impossible.

In this case, the strapping will be difficult and with embedding expensive equipment that needs regular maintenance. In addition, balancing of devices, their installation by experienced craftsmen, whose services are not cheap, will be required. It is possible to use the principle of primary-secondary rings, due to which there is a reduction in the number of devices in the network. For each ring, a circular pump is required to ensure an even flow of coolant.

Schemes for various boilers

The versatility of polypropylene pipes makes it possible to use them for all types of coolant. They are not susceptible to corrosion, have smooth inner walls, which guarantees cleanliness throughout the entire service life.

IMPORTANT!Experts recommend using a metal pipe when installing the first meter of the pipeline, and then connect the polypropylene to it. This is due to the fact that in case of violations in the operation of the boiler, heat stroke is possible, from which the strapping will burst.

Solid fuel boilers

It differs in that the heating of the coolant will continue until the fuel burns out entirely in the furnace, and this is unfavorable for polypropylene. In this regard, the use of metal in the arrangement of the first meter of the strapping is mandatory and only polypropylene pipes should be connected to it.

General recommendations:

  • the installation of an uninterruptible power supply is mandatory for uninterrupted circulation, since heat must be removed by the pump constantly, despite problems with electricity;
  • equipping all batteries with bypasses will not be out of place, which will facilitate repair in the event of a breakdown without the need to turn off the heating system;
  • the solid fuel boiler must be covered with a protective cover restricting the heating of the boiler, in addition, it is necessary to ensure the maximum distance from the furnace to the collector and pipes.

REFERENCE! Professionals advise to necessarily equip an additional supply of water and bring it to the sewer. This is necessary for efficient cooling of the heat exchanger.

Gas boilers

For these models, piping is performed with a collector and a hydraulic arrow. Gas boilers are most often used in forced heating circuits and are equipped with a built-in pump. From a safety point of view, it is advisable to equip the circulation equipment for circuits behind the collector. In this case, the pump pumps pressure to the distributor, and then additional pumps are switched on, which play a key role in pumping hot water. A cast-iron heat exchanger in conjunction with a gas boiler will require installation in a heat storage system to smooth out temperature differences in water that adversely affect cast iron. For dual-circuit models with parallel heating, at the entrance to the water heater, installation of treatment filters will be required.

Fuel oil and electricity boilers

Tying is carried out according to the scheme used for solid fuel heaters - the maximum distance to plastic pipes should be provided. The latter are perfectly combined with electric boilers due to the automation that prevents the heating of the coolant to an excessively high temperature. To avoid water hammer, the systems are equipped with overpressure relief valves and a hydraulic accumulator.

Most often, when installing polypropylene pipes, welding is used (hot or cold). In the case of hot, a soldering iron is used to soften the parts, which, when connected, form a monolithic structure. Threaded connection is simpler, but at cost several times more expensive than welding.

IMPORTANT! At the junction of polypropylene pipes with metal, it is necessary to use exclusively the threaded method. Do not forget about sealing the joint.

Thus, tying the boiler with polypropylene pipes does not differ in great complexity and is quite feasible even by an inexperienced master. The key to successful work is simple - competent calculation, analysis of all the features of the building and following the advice and recommendations of professionals.
