Installation and connection of a storage water heater

A water heater is a device often used in private homes with autonomous water supply. It is also used as a backup source of hot water in city apartments, when its centralized supply is suspended for some reason.

Accumulative water heaters, or boilers are vertical, horizontal, with top and bottom connections to the water supply pipes. Top connection models are convenient for installation under the sink.

Installation of the storage water heater with the supply of pipes to the lower part of the housing is made from above. It includes several steps. It starts with determining the installation location, and ending with its connection to communications and start-up.

How to install a storage electric water heater? To get started, you need to choose where it will be installed.

The installation location depends on many factors, affects the choice of a particular model. To perform prompt and high-quality installation, it is necessary to prepare the appropriate tool and consumables.

Seat selection

How to install a storage water heater? The installation point is determined depending on how many and which consumers it is planned to provide with hot water.

If you intend to connect the device only to a shower or sink, it makes sense to place a small boiler in the vicinity of these points of analysis.

If it is necessary to provide a backup source of hot water to all consumers connected to the riser, you need to look at the installation location near hot and cold pipelines.

Important! When choosing a place, attention should be paid to the supporting structure of the wall on which it is planned to fix the device. Hanging heaters on drywall or plywood walls above head level is strictly forbidden and life-threatening.

In the case of floor mounts, it is necessary to provide a small free space around the appliance for maintenance.

How to connect the storage water heater to the mains? It is permissible to include two-phase devices in ordinary electrical outlets, provided that they have grounding and are ready to accept the load from the device.

After you have decided on the place and made sure of its suitability for installation, you can summarize the communication.

Installation and fixing

How to connect a storage water heater? For fastening you will need:

  • Level;
  • Hammer with a drill or drill - for mounting on a wooden wall;
  • A set of screws with dowels for fixing equipment on which the boiler is mounted;
  • Powerful screwdriver or screwdriver.

Installation of a storage water heater is carried out in stages. Equipment or fixtures are applied to the wall and positioned horizontally with the help of a level. Skewing in the mount is extremely undesirable, as it can lead to uneven distribution of load and the stall of the tank filled with water from the supporting surface down.

Then, with a pencil or marker, the places of the holes on the wall are marked. It is necessary to drill to a depth a couple of millimeters greater than the length of the dowels. The latter are buried in the wall with a rubber-tipped hammer.

The fastening is fixed in the prepared holes with suitable diameter screws. The drive is suspended from above, and if necessary, it is also fixed in one or several places to the wall, depending on the model.

Connection to communications

To connect to the failed water pipes ending with fittings, you need to prepare:

  • A pair of adjustable wrenches;
  • Fumlentu (sometimes use tow with sealing paste);
  • Gaskets;
  • Flexible eyeliner
  • Fitting.

The storage water heater connection diagram is as follows: for the convenience of draining, a tee is installed immediately in front of the inlet and outlet of the device. A ball valve is screwed to its side exit. It can be connected through a flexible hose to the sewage system or to the outlet pipe.

Important! A non-return valve is installed in the free outlet, after which the device is connected to the HVS pipeline through the stop valves.

Do-it-yourself connection of the storage water heater through a valve to a pipe with hot water. Joints of all structures must be sealed with gasket or gaskets.

After connecting the storage water heater, check for leaks. You can then plug the device into a power outlet and perform test heating. If under pressure the leaks at the joints also did not appear, the boiler is ready for operation.
