Dishwasher does not drain water

Any, even the most reliable equipment, has its own motor resource. More than one generation has been trying to invent the eternal engine - it hasn’t come out yet. The dishwasher is no exception - it also fails over time. This happens, as a rule, without warning - worked, worked, and stopped. One of these failures - the dishwasher stops draining water. What is the reason? There may be several. The article will give a list of possible malfunctions and methods for eliminating them.

Reasons why there is water in the dishwasher after the washing process

The most common malfunctions associated with a violation of the water drain are:

  • clogged filter;
  • kink of the drain hose;
  • clogging of the drainage system;
  • malfunction or contamination of the drain pump;
  • failure of the pressure switch;
  • malfunction of the control module.

How to identify a malfunction

When the filter is clogged, as a rule, located in the lower part of the PMM, its state is visible to the naked eye.

With the hose located behind the machine, everything is also clear - the bend or clamping, if any, is obvious.

To see if the drainage system is clogged, you will have to disconnect the drainage hose from the sewage system and from the dishwasher and visually inspect the hose and its connection to the sewage system. The hose can be checked by passing water through it, having previously disconnected it from the sewer, but not from the machine - if there is no blockage, water will flow out of it with a normal stream, under pressure.

The most common cause of a malfunction is a blockage in the drain pump located at the bottom of the dishwasher. To identify and eliminate the malfunction, you need to remove the pump, clean it, check the rotation of the internal impellers with a pencil.

If, after the above inspection, the dishwasher still does not work, then the pressostat or software module is probably out of order.

What to do if water remains at the bottom of the appliance

Do not operate a faulty dishwasher. One malfunction, even a minor one, if not eliminated, entails other, more serious ones. It is necessary to start in order to search for the cause of the breakdown, sorting through the options one after another. If there is no proper experience, time or desire to deal with this issue, specially trained people will solve it for an appropriate fee.

Methods for solving the problem, depending on the cause

Water does not drain through a pinched hose

The result of clamping the hose is that the water has nowhere to go from the dishwasher, of course, it does not go away. After the kink or clamping of the drain hose, which is located behind the machine, is detected, it must be disconnected from the dishwasher, corrected, and, controlling the reliability and tightness of the connection, return to its original position.

Clogged filter or individual drainage areas

The filter becomes clogged with food residues, in the instructions for Bosch dishwashers it is recommended to remove them before washing the dishes. The filter is removed, cleaned with a toothbrush or running water, and put in place. If the drain hose is clogged, it is also disconnected and thoroughly cleaned, and then reconnected to the PMM. The hose connection to the sewer system is often clogged. In this case, disconnect the hose and eliminate the blockage.

The pump responsible for pumping water from the dishwasher tank burned out

Cleaning the filter, drain, hose did not help. What then? Most often, the pump fails. How to get to it?

  • Remove water from the dishwasher.
  • Remove filter.
  • Turn the dishwasher over and remove the pan attached to the screws.

Important! The Aqua-Stop sensor can be fixed on the pallet. If the wires are damaged, it will stop working.

  • Disconnect the Aqua-Stop indicator.
  • Unscrew the pump and disconnect it from the hoses.
  • Check the rotation of the impeller of the pump. If it does not spin, then the pump is faulty, it must be changed.

Connect the multimeter to the pump terminals. Normal resistance should be about 0.2 kΩ. Check the voltage supply from the pump to the control module.

In the event of a pump malfunction, the same or similar is purchased, and is put back in place.

Malfunctioning pressure switch

Pressostat - water level sensor in the car. If a defect appears in the pressure vessel or in the tube connected to the sensor, the data is distorted. As a result, the pressure switch does not send a signal to the control module, the pump does not turn on, and the water does not drain. With such a malfunction, a sensor replacement is necessary.

Broken software module

There are several reasons for the failure of a software module - a short circuit, wear, or a failure in the firmware. It is better to contact a specialist with repairing electronics; he will either install a new module or repair an old one.

In which cases it is better to contact a professional dishwasher repairman

It all depends on your skills, desire and free time. Clogging or kink of the hose can be completely eliminated by yourself. Not everyone can change the pump, pressure switch or software module. There are doubts - do not break expensive equipment. Then you still have to call a specialist, but repairs can skyrocket.

How to prevent water from remaining at the bottom of the dishwasher

For the machine to function correctly and for a long time, carefully read the operating instructions. Do not operate the dishwasher in modes not specified in this manual. If there are oddities in the work, even if insignificant, find out their reasons, without waiting for the final failure of the device. If there is no understanding of the causes of water at the bottom of the PMM - consult a specialist.
