Angina inhaler

The number of viruses is increasing every year, and with them the range of antiviral drugs. A runny nose, sore throat, dry or wet cough can begin at any time, regardless of the time of year. Inhalation, as a treatment method, has been known for a long time and is a great alternative to antiviral agents. This method is simple and suitable for self-treatment at home.

Inhalation helps to cope with the symptoms of a cold, cure a runny nose and respiratory diseases.

Advantage and contraindication of the procedure, reviews of doctors

The inhalation procedure is absolutely harmless and very effective, does not require large expenses, and also takes a little time. This method is suitable for the treatment of even such an infectious disease as tonsillitis, better known in the common people as tonsillitis or inflammation of the tonsils. The use of herbs for steam inhalation is particularly popular.

So, the essential oils in the composition of eucalyptus leaves, destroy the bacteria that cause tonsillitis. Flowers and leaves of sage relieve pain and swelling of the larynx, and chamomile has an anti-inflammatory effect. In addition to inhalation, gargling with herbal infusions is recommended.

Doctors confirm the effectiveness of such a comprehensive treatment method: inhalation directly affects inflamed glands, the patient's well-being improves; the human body rests from drugs (tablets and potions); swelling decreases; the period of the disease is reduced.

Important! Inhalation with angina has contraindications - the procedure can not be performed at elevated body temperature and swollen lymph nodes (symptoms of the acute phase of tonsillitis). It is forbidden to do steam inhalation with follicular (purulent) tonsillitis, since hot steam can provoke a rupture of purulent formations on the tonsils.

Inhalation with angina at home

Those who wish to be treated independently, at home, need to know how to perform the inhalation procedure with angina. There are three options: in the old way - over a teapot or pan, inhaler or nebulizer. Often people do not understand the difference between the two devices for inhalation. Indeed, both devices perform one function and have a similar appearance, but their capabilities are completely different. The inhaler is filled with certain medicinal fluids, herbal oils and decoctions.

Antibiotics and hormonal drugs for refueling are not allowed. In the inhaler, decoctions are converted to steam, so there are age restrictions for using this device.

The nebulizer has the opposite capabilities: it is forbidden to refill oil and decoction, only a liquid drug is used. Ultrasonic fluid turns into aerosol, which is safe even for small children.

Consultation with a doctor about the possibility of using an inhaler

Before you begin treatment of a sore throat with an inhaler, you need to consult a doctor. The therapist may prohibit the use of a steam inhaler for people with arterial hypertension, arrhythmic and respiratory disorders. With a disease of the cardiovascular system, such procedures are contraindicated.

The use of a nebulizer is prohibited: for people with cancer diagnoses and having a heart attack; hypertensive patients; patients with atherosclerosis; during pregnancy.

Attention! Recommendations for the use of an inhaler using any drug, herbs or oils can only be given by a doctor. It is not advisable to choose herbs for the treatment of tonsillitis without consulting a physician, as some herbs can cause allergies.

How to fill the inhaler with angina. How to prepare a medicine

The preparation of solutions for the inhaler is a very important point. In a nebulizer, the drug is diluted with distilled water or saline. Ordinary raw and boiled water for this inhaler is not suitable.

A solution of furatsilin diluted with saline (1: 1) is often used as an antiseptic. The recipe for the solution is very simple - mix 0.5 teaspoons of saline with the same amount of furacilin solution.

Miramistin is diluted in the same ratio. This antiseptic not only relieves inflammation, but also destroys the very problem of the appearance of angina (viruses and infection).

Natural mineral water Narzan or Borjomi is useful for inhalation. Mineral water vapor has a beneficial effect on the mucous membrane of the throat, softens it and relieves pain.

For steam inhalers, the following therapeutic solutions are prepared:

  • add 1 teaspoon of propolis tincture to a glass of boiling water. Inhalation with this medicine is done no more than 3 times a day;
  • in boiling water add eucalyptus essential oil. You can breathe such a solution 2 times a day for 10 minutes per procedure;
  • a decoction of herbs is made (1 tablespoon of herbs is taken in a glass of boiling water). We keep the resulting mixture in a water bath for half an hour, remove and insist. The broth for use is ready.

How to use an inhaler (nebulizer) with angina

Using an inhaler is not difficult, but to achieve the desired result, it is important to correctly perform the procedure.

  1. Take a comfortable sitting position.
  2. One hour before inhalation, you need to eat, since 1-1.5 hours after the procedure, eating is undesirable.
  3. Slowly take a breath in your mouth and exhale your nose.
  4. During inhalation, you can not speak, read.
  5. After the procedure, it is forbidden to go out and strain your throat (sing, scream).

Reference! Before use, the inhalation apparatus must be washed, even if it has just been purchased. Prepare a medicine for a nebulizer immediately before use. Decoctions of herbs should also be freshly prepared.

Features of inhalation with angina in children

Inhalation of a child should be approached more responsibly. A small child can be put on his lap, so the parent will limit his activity and verify the correctness of the procedure. The time of inhalation for children depends on their age (from 1 to 10 minutes). Up to 5 years of age, inhalation is 3 minutes, no more than 2 times a day.

Using a steam inhaler, you need to make sure that the water temperature in the device does not exceed 60 degrees. Otherwise, the child may get burned.
