How to use a washing machine

In working with a washing machine, it would seem that everything is simple. The functionality on the panel is clearly described by symbols and inscriptions. However, improper operation of the washing machine significantly shortens its service life. Therefore, you need to know how to properly prepare, and start the wash.

The washing machine belongs to household appliances of long-term operation. The manufacturers indicate the service life of the machines from 5 to 20 years. But the term depends not only on the technical and design characteristics of the equipment. To ensure the maximum operational period, the correct algorithm of actions and handling of equipment is important. Incorrect machine functionality can also ruin things.

The choice of washing mode, temperature

Functionality different models can be very different from each other, but there are washing modes that are inherent in most devices:

Cotton - up to 95 °. Long wash up to 2 hours;
Synthetics - up to 60 °. Duration - up to 2 hours;
Manual - up to 40 °. No spin;
Delicate - up to 40 °. With an extraction;
Fast - 30 °. Duration - 30 minutes. High-speed spin;
Intensive - up to 90 °. Strong rotation of the drum in the process;
Preliminary - up to 2 hours, with a detectable temperature;
Economy - minimum water temperature and feed to the drum;
Silk, wool - a delicate mode with a low temperature. No spin.

Each of the modes may have its own characteristics in different models, but the listed ones are standard.

Turn on, set the mode

Before starting the wash, you need to make sure that the electric cable is connected to the outlet, the shut-off valve is open, and the hose gives free access to water to the equipment.

The panel can have a large number of buttons. The function of each of them must be written in the instructions. It also indicates the features of washing modes and rules for use. Turn on the machine only according to the instructions.

Mode selection is usually done with the rotary knob or the dial. Each model has symbols around the rotary knob, which are understandable. More modern models use touch panels, setting the mode for which will not provide difficulties.

Drum loading

The amount of textiles to be washed depends on the size of the drum. The technique has limitations on the weight of linen for one wash from 5 to 20 kg, depending on the model. It is also not recommended to cram the machine up to the permissible weight. So it works in heavy duty, which will lead to wear faster. Therefore, weighing things is the best option, but a small percentage of housewives resort to such an event.

Covers with a complex texture and synthetic winter blankets are not always easy to load into a drum. To do this, roll it several times along and twist it into a roll. You need to twist strongly so that the blanket crawls into the loading hatch. In the drum, it will unfold on its own.

Filling Detergent Containers

A detergent container in the form of a cabinet usually has three compartments:

compartment for the main wash;

It is important to comply with the recommended amount of detergent, as its excess settles in a cylindrical tank, which provokes an unpleasant odor from the equipment. The automatic washing machine requires observance of operating procedures and regular maintenance. In order to delay the term of the device failure, you must adhere to the following rules:

Do not overload the machine;
if hard water is supplied in the area, use descaling solutions;
use high-quality powders that are completely soluble in water;
before washing make sure of a good pressure of water;
periodically clean filters, pockets, containers for household chemicals, etc.

Sorting laundry

It is forbidden to throw all things from the wardrobe in a row into the washing machine. This can lead to deterioration of products, since each fabric requires its own washing regimen. When sorting underwear, you must adhere to the following rules:

Be sure to find out about the washing mode of each item from the tags;
some types of fabrics can be washed exclusively in manual mode;
to distribute clothes by colors: white and color;
distribute clothes by weight;
for washing delicate textiles, it can be placed in a special container;
clothing with large contaminants, which may not be removed after the first try, must be washed separately.

Airing after washing

So that moisture does not accumulate in the machine, which serves as an excellent environment for the propagation of the fungus, it must be periodically ventilated. To do this, open the boot hatch cover and a container for household chemicals. The procedure does not require effort and time, but it will definitely extend the life of the machine.

Also, after washing, each time you need to leave the lid and container ajar so that all moisture from the appliance evaporates.

Maximum load

Pre-weighing things will not always help to properly load them into the machine. A rough wool product weighing 1 kg absorbs significantly more moisture than a cotton fabric of the same weight. Therefore, you also need to navigate by the degree of filling of the drum. Synthetics need to fill the drum 1/2, woolen 1/3.

But there is also such a thing as minimum drum loading. Modern models do not have such a limitation due to the features of the work.

If you load 2-3 T-shirts into a machine with a minimum load limit of 1 kg, the device may break immediately. It's all about vibrations during the spin cycle. Thus, there will be an imbalance in the drum, as a result of which the vibration will increase. This easily leads to damage to items of equipment.
