When connecting a network printer, error 0x00000006

In the process of connecting a network printer to another computer from the network, error 0x00000006 may appear. Users immediately start switching to the network address, but the error does not disappear. Rebooting the computer does not help either. It is necessary to look for other ways to solve the problem.

Error 0x00000006: what is it

According to information on Microsoft forums, an error occurs due to a call to the KeStackAttachProcess and KeUnstackDetachProcess procedures. These two procedures are associated with the memory core and are needed to switch threads to the address space. A malfunction can occur if there is a malfunction of the device or if there are problems with the power supply.

Usually an error occurs if we use multiple printers. For example, sometimes we need color, and sometimes standard. A computer can automatically update drivers, adjusting them to a specific version of the printer.

Very often, an error occurs after reinstalling or updating drivers. The printer connects to the computer without errors, but 0x00000006 occurs when you try to print a document. It is impossible to say exactly the reason for the appearance of such a problem, since the problem is confusing and depends on the individual case. And to solve the problem is not always easy. But, as a rule, the cause of the problem is in the device driver. It must be removed and then reinstalled. Therefore, a method was invented that helps in most cases.

How to fix the error

To fix the problem, do the following:

  1. Push the combination of Windows + R.
  2. We have a window where you need to enter the printui.exe / s / t command
  3. Push
  4. Go to the Drivers tab.
  5. We should have a list of printers. We are looking for the one to which you need to connect.
  6. Click on the Delete button.
  7. Check the box next to the option Remove driver and driver package.
  8. Press the Windows + r combination again.
  9. Now enter regedit (to open the registry).
  10. Push
  11. Delete the key located at the following address HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SYSTEM CurrentControlSet Control Session Manager PendingFileRenameOperations
  12. Now you should try to restart your computer and printer.

Important! You can remove the driver through the Control Panel. Just look for the name of the driver (usually in the name there are the words Printer Software). After removal we try to reinstall the driver from a disk or the Internet. But the first method is more effective, since deletion through the control panel does not guarantee that all the necessary files will disappear from the registry.

If this method does not help, try checking your computer for viruses. A possible reason may also be a lack of RAM or incorrect operation of the hard drive.

Another common problem is damage to the power supply. Inspect it for any external damage. Typically, the printer and computer use the same power supply wire, so you can try swapping them.

In most cases, this helps resolve the issue with the drivers and fix the 0x00000006 error.

If you cannot connect and error 0x00000006 still appears, you should contact a service center for help.
